The Truth of the Matter by Andrew Klavan
Charlie West is a seventeen-year-old who is on the run for his life. He is being sought by two groups who want him on their side, the terrorists who want to take control of America and those who want to preserve the freedom and Constitution of the United States. Charlie can not remember the last year of his life. The only thing he can remember is that he needs to find a “Mr. Waterman” who will hopeful help him remember his life.
This book is the third book in the series and I had not read the previous titles. Although it took me awhile to understand what was going on, Mr. Klavan gave the information that you needed by flashbacks and reflections by the main character, Charlie. The story moves fairly fast after the first few chapters and has a lot of intrigue keeping me wanting to turn the pages to find the conclusion. I will have to wait until the next installment to find out if Charlie ever gets back home. The reflections that Charlie goes through not only helps the reader who has not read the previous titles understand the storyline but it also showed how one can understand ones motives upon reflecting upon ones experiences. I would recommend this title and series to any young man looking for adventure.
Note: I received a free copy of this book through Thomas Nelson’s BookSneeze program. I am obligated to write an honest review of the material.
