Chantel Panetta comes back to Ely, Minnesota from an extended trip to Italy. Chantel’s family is from Italy and she enjoyed her time getting to know the traditions her family has come from. While she was in Italy, her little sister, Isabella, has fallen in love with a young man, Orlando. The only problem for Chantel was that her sister’s beloved was from the Calaraco family. The Calaraco and the Panetta families have been feuding for generations. So long in fact, they can’t really remember why, other than a donkey was involved in an event.
This story will not disappoint Tracie Peterson fans. It is a fast-moving romantic tale. Tracie always writes characters with some depth and tension. You find yourself rooting for the characters to get together in the end. It is very reminiscent of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. It did not follow the tragedy but showed the faith of both family’s and the gift of forgiveness. I would recommend this to any romance fan but especially to all Tracie Peterson fan. A very enjoyable read.
