Melody Carlson has written a story centering around an Amish character but explores the question how far would a person go to accomplish something while trying to keep their values and beliefs. Simple Song explores the reality t.v. craze of today with the twist of the Amish values. The book is a quick read but challenges the characters and readers to explore how far would you bend your values to win something. This book would be a great book club book for teens. Fans of Melody Carlson will not be disappointed with Simple Song.
