God’s gift to us is grace. This book by John MacArthur explains what is grace and how to live it out. Before reading this book I never thought that there might be more than the one definition I have ever heard. I knew that God gave us grace though the blood of Jesus. Mr. MacArthur explains that there are three definitions. He explains the three definitions using scripture and the Greek language that explaining the Greek words and the different interpretations of these words.
I found this book very thought-provoking and kept going back to the scriptures Mr. MacArthur uses to try to understand grace. I liked that after he explained what grace is but then shows how a person can apply these definitions to your life. The end of the book gives the reader gives the understanding that God looks at the heart of the person not on the works of a person. It is through the belief of Jesus that through the grace one does good works not the other way around. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to understand what is grace or have a deeper understanding of grace. Although it was not a fast read to get through Mr. MacArthur does a good job explaining grace with many scriptures to back up his explanations.
